Eco-friendly holidays on the Renon plateau in South Tyrol

If you share our view that respect for nature is also a favour to ourselves, Hotel Rinner in Soprabolzano/Oberbozen will be the perfect choice for that regenerating mountain holiday on your bucket list. We set great store by sustainability, and do our best to preserve natural resources. We are committed to providing our bees an unspoilt environment with optimal conditions for them to produce their premium organic honey – a big favourite with our guests.

Our hotel is powered by green energy from the new district heating station, where the waste from wood processing is converted into carbon-neutral, eco-friendly electricity.

Our son, master chef Manfred, does his part in the kitchen where he and his team prepare healthy delicacies using natural, locally-sourced ingredients.

The perfect hotel for your family adventure

As a member of the Familyhotels Ritten initiative, the Rinner welcomes families with children with a range of dedicated services. Our accommodation options include spacious family rooms. Kids have at their disposal a playroom for indoor games and several outdoor options including a playground and the nearby wood, while the picturesque Costalovara/Wolfsgrubener lake is just a fifteen minutes’ walk away. In our spectacular surroundings, there is always plenty to do, discover and experience for guests of all ages – the only thing you will be hard pressed to find here is a way to get bored!

Four seasons, endless opportunities

Sitting on the Renon – aptly called “South Tyrol’s sunny plateau” – and wrapped in woodland and meadows, the Rinner is the ideal accommodation for quiet-seeking nature lovers and variety-thirsty connoisseurs. From early spring to late autumn, its charming location makes it a congenial starting point for a number of walks and hikes. Local standouts including the renowned Renon Earth Pyramids, the Renon Horn mountain, and sprawling meadows and beech forests are all within easy reach.

At 1,000 metres of altitude, the Renon plateau offers fresh air and cool temperatures, which makes it a popular summer retreat for tourists and locals seeking to escape the valley’s heat.

Winter is quite a romantic business around here. This is the time when nature goes to sleep under a thick duvet of snow, shiny icicles festoon the house roofs and the local Christmas markets fill the air with their enticing scents, bright lights and merry melodies.

If you would like to take a leisurely tour to soak up the panorama of the Renon and environs, but do not quite fancy the tramp, all you have to do is take a seat on the Renon train. It is a narrow-gauge railway service departing from the Maria Assunta/Maria Himmelfahrt stop and leading through Soprabolzano/Oberbozen all the way to Collalbo/Klobenstein – a scenic route offering gorgeous glimpses of the Dolomites. Conveniently enough, the Rinner request stop is right behind our hotel.
